Shooter Detection Systems LLC (SDS), the world leader in indoor gunshot detection technology, today announced that it has been deployed in a Virginia school to ensure the highest levels of student safety. The deployment, made possible through a partnership with ASI Security, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axis Global Enterprises, who donated their time and resources to ensure a successful installation was possible prior to the start of the new school year.
ASI Security was first introduced to Shooter Detection Systems’ Guardian solution following a product demonstration at the Academi Training Facility in Moyock, North Carolina just 10 months ago. Following the demonstration, ASI was so impressed by the life-saving capabilities of the Guardian solution that the company was inspired to become of the first registered distributors of Guardian in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Shortly after “signing on” as a registered distributor of Guardian, ASI was contacted by a school in the Virginia Catholic Diocese that had begun a fundraising campaign from parents, teachers and the community to install a cutting-edge gun shot detection solution. Together, ASI and the school partnered to make this deployment a reality with ASI donating both time and materials to ensure the deployment was in place. Ross Vierra, CEO & President, and Josh Canada, Vice President of Axis Global Enterprises, Inc. and ASI Security stated, “We believe that the safety of the students and the community as a whole is paramount and when seconds count, you need a system that can provide critical information to first responders and the public to save lives and we stay at the forefront of technologies that makes this happen.” The initiative was successful as both ASI and the school system immediately saw the value of the Guardian offering as an important element for protecting students and faculty and for arming first responders with the critical information necessary to react in the event of an active shooting event at the school.
“This deployment represents another powerful example of a grassroots effort to ensure the highest levels of safety of students and faculty in our nation’s schools,” said Christian Connors, Chief Executive Officer of Shooter Detection Systems. “In this case, both ASI Security and the school system shared a common vision for providing the peace of mind necessary to preserve the learning environment by investing to protect teachers and students in the school. It is our belief that efforts such as this are increasingly necessary to protect the innocent from random acts of gun violence.”
